Our venue has evolved from an open jam at the park to more of a group lesson. We meet for a few hours each week on Saturdays. Our meetups are designed so that a person can join us at any level of experience. We practice within a single key each week...handouts are available. These practices include the chords common to the key along with scale patterns and other melodic tools. In addition to these tools we work a song within the key. Hopefully, this will be a once-a-week hootenanny group. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, a hootenanny is an informal party where real and wannabe folksingers bring their latest pet projects, or just come to sing/play along. Guitarists, banjoists, washboarders, and other folk instrumentalists of all levels will be welcome, as well as vocalists. Our focus will be on folk music from all over the world as well as campfire songs.
